Self care is taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. With self care activities you’ll feel healthier, happier, and ready for anything. One self care activity you can do that I recently got into is Journaling; it is a creative and relaxing way to record your thoughts and experiences. Some of you may ask, what would I write about, how long should I write, how often should I write, well because you are doing this for yourself, the answer to these questions will be up to you. I will provide you with a few ideas and prompts; some of which I thought of and also found on the internet. I will also explain to y’all how I journal- meaning how often, and how much/or little do I write. Just to give you an idea of how Journaling works for me !
Here are a few ideas/prompts that you can use to start journaling :
-What is your dream job ?
-Post five things that make you laugh out loud.
-What scares you ?
-Your favorite personality trait.
-Am I happy ? What is happiness to me ?
-Your favorite season and why ?
This one is for my Marvel fans.
-If you could possess one infinity stone, which one would it be ?
-Some things that make me happy are…
If I don’t have nothing urgent to write about off the top of my head, I pull an idea/prompt from my jar and write about it; As far as how much I write, it’s usually for about 5-10 mins. which ends up being a whole page of my journal.
Besides being a great activity for self care, keeping a journal especially after the journal is full, a few years from then, you can look back and see how much you’ve grown and learned; It’s also a good way to record memories.
