Which Fast Food Place Has The Best Fries ?

Okay so in case y’all didn’t know I love French fries. Like I could eat them every day. And I’m pretty sure everyone can agree that fries are the perfect side to a sandwich, burger or any other meal. So many fast food places and restaurants have different styles and taste of fries, which is great it makes them unique. Last month’s, “Who has the best” theme was chicken sandwiches, so I decided this month will of course be fries. I’ll be ranking the fries from my least favorite to my overall favorite. The six fast food places I’m ranking the fries from are: Zaxby’s, Chick-Fil-A, KFC, Arby’s, McDonald’s, and Checkers. I would’ve love to do more fries from fast food places, but these are a few restaurants that have different fries from one another. I’m ranking these fries based on how they taste. So keep on reading to see my rankings:

6. KFC (Least Favorite)

Description of fries: Seasoned with a secret blend of herbs and spices and fried to crispy perfection. (Description from KFC’s website)

My Thoughts: So I was shocked to see KFC get rid of their famous potato wedges, I mean those wedges made them stand out. So the first time I tried their new seasoned fries, I wasn’t impressed, at the time I didn’t even know they were seasoned fries. But when I tried them again, I saw the seasoning on them and the taste matched. The fries have a slight sweet and salty taste, if that makes sense. Now while they are similar to Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries, the times that I’ve had them they were almost fried too hard, you could barely taste the seasoning, and they were a bit too crisp. Which is a bit disappointing since I could never enjoy the fries.

5. Arby’s

Description of fries: Potatoes. The meats of the field. Sliced up curly and fried to perfection. (Description from Arby’s website)

My Thoughts: I like curly fries, but I’m not a huge fan of them. Sometimes with curly fries you get a few crispy pieces, that are too crispy. The taste is okay, even though they’re not my preferred type of fries, but I like Arby’s curly fries over their new crinkle fries. Just in case you didn’t know they now have crinkle fries in addition to curly fries.

4. Chick-Fil-A

Description of fries: Waffle-shaped potatoes with the skin. Cooked in canola oil until crispy outside and tender inside. (Description from Chick-Fil-A’s website)

My Thoughts: Waffle fries aren’t my favorite type of fries, but I think they’ve become synonymous with Chick-Fil-A and it’s great. There are times when I don’t add condiments to my fries, but in the case of waffle fries, I like to dip them in Chick-Fil-A’s barbeque sauce, and their sauce is so good. As long as the fries have salt on them and I have my barbecue sauce then I’m good. Waffles fries can sometimes be a hit or miss. They can be fried too hard, or not cooked long enough. But I think I’d prefer Chick-Fil-A’s waffle fries over Arby’s curly fries.

3. Zaxby’s

Description of fries: Crispy, crinkle-cut fries with our signature seasoning salt. Nom, nom, nom. (Description from Zaxby’s website)

My Thoughts: I enjoy eating crinkle fries, and for me I feel that they must have seasoning salt on them lol. That’s my requirement for crinkle fries. Zaxby’s put a decent amount of seasoning salt on them. The fries are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and they’re good. The fries are perfect with Zaxby’s chicken menu items. And being that I’m not huge condiment person with fries, I’ll occasionally dip a few fries in their Zax sauce, even though they don’t need it and it’s yummy.

2. McDonald’s

Description of fries: Our World Famous Fries® are made with premium potatoes such as the Russet Burbank and the Shepody. With 0g of trans fat per labeled serving, these epic fries are crispy and golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside. (Description from McDonald’s website)

My Thoughts: I love McDonald’s fries and the fact that McDonald’s calls them World Famous Fries, is so true. Their fries are one of my favorite items to get from their menu. I love their taste, that they are golden, crispy, and soft on the inside. They really compliment the food items on McDonald’s menu. Their fries are so good and let’s not forget the salt sprinkled on them. For these fries you don’t need to add any condiments to them.

1. Checkers/Rally’s (Overall Favorite)

Description of fries: Secretly seasoned. Famously good. And made just for you. (Description from Checkers’ website)

My Thoughts: Checkers fries are so good. The taste and crisp of them are nearly perfect. And the fact that they are seasoned fries is another great thing. I can’t imagine eating a Checker Burger without their famous fries. These seasoned potatoes leave a yummy taste in your mouth. You don’t need any condiments with these potatoes. They really taste great. And this is why Checkers fries are my overall favorite.

As a French fry lover, I rarely put any condiments on my fries, except when I make them at home. Sometimes it’s best to taste fries in their delicious form without any condiments lol. So what do you think, which restaurant has your favorite fries ? Did your favorite make the list ? As always thanks for reading and stay tuned for next month’s “Which fast food place has the best ___ ?”
