Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next

Thank_U,_Next_-_Digital_Version

Release Date: February 08, 2019

Track List:

1. imagine

2. needy

3. NASA

4. bloodline

5. fake smile

6. bad idea

7. make up

8. ghostin

9. in my head

10. 7 rings

11. thank u next

12. break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored

Ariana’s fifth studio album titled Thank U Next has been out for about two weeks now and is topping the Billboards. While I still have a sweet spot for her previous album Sweetener (seriously one of my favorite albums), this album is pretty amazing. This album has some nice bops to it and while Ariana definitely has had difficulties in the last few months, with her dealing with Mac Miller’s death and the break up with Pete Davidson, she still shines and puts out an amazing album ! While I’m not completely crazy over the whole album, the majority of the songs I like so that is definitely a plus ! Ariana can do no wrong in my eyes especially after dropping two albums in 6 months and both are on the Billboards and are major hits.

Here’s a snippet of Ariana’s interview with Billboard

“ Thank U, Next was mostly written in a week, with the people she’s toasting in the control room, and recorded in two weeks. Now comes the polishing phase and the addition of some tracks with Martin and his team. It was the product of a lot of “feminine energy and champagne and music and laughter and crying. This [album’s] not particularly uplifting,” she says. “A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it’s actually a super sad chapter.”

“The music is defiant — deep, bass-driven bangers with trap beats alternating with airy, sad ballads — and aesthetically more adventurous than anything she has ever released. Some of the lyrics are so unambiguously personal and gutting that even if the singer were up for talking about them, most questions would be redundant “.

I’ve bolded my favorite tracks off the album above. Have you listened to the album ? If so, what are your favorite tracks ?

Skin Care Routine

IMG_0889

Hi everyone, here on this post I’m gonna do a brief rundown of my skin care routine that I do in the morning and in the evening. I have combination skin, and if you aren’t familiar with skin types, I’ll break it down before getting into my routine.

Skin Types

Normal: Feels good and even; not too oily or dry.

Dry: Feels itchy and tight, has some flaky patches.

Sensitive: Sometimes get red, irritated, itchy, or inflamed.

Oily: Is shiny, and feels greasy, especially in the T-Zone ( is the part of your face that is made up of the forehead, nose, chin and area circling the mouth).

Combination: Is oily in the T-Zone, but dry or normal on my cheeks and jawline.

Before I introduce y’all to the products I use in my skin care routine, I just wanted to say  that what I use may or may not work for you, due to everyone’s skin being different but I am more than happy to share what I use. I also wanted to say that besides doing my skin care routine, I drink lots of water, 90 -95% of the time that’s what I drink, I also drink Green Tea to reduce inflammation, and I try to not to eat too much acne prone foods !

Morning Routine

After I rinse my face off water, I soak a cotton pad with Garnier Micellar water and wipe my face and I use another cotton pad and pour witch hazel on it and wipe my face off, after I rub Eucerin calming cream on my face. (pretty simple).

-Once a week in the AM , I’ll use the Cetaphil Extra Gentle Face Scrub.

Evening Routine

I cleanse my face off with the Cetaphil foaming cleanser and with Neutrogena foaming scrub/I also rotate this with the Oil free acne wash. After rinsing off the cleanser, I apply witch hazel on a cotton pad, and rub over my face; and rub Eucerin calming cream on my face along with Pond’s dark spot correcting cream.

-Before I go to bed I spray rosewater facial mist on my face.

-Occasionally when  I have a bump/acne/spot I use diluted tea tree oil with water and/or the Neutrogena On-the-spot acne treatment, which reduces the size/inflammation.

Do you have a skin care routine ? What are your favorite products to use ? Feel free to leave any comments below on any skin care routine recommendations !

The Prodigy (Movie Review)

The Prodigy 7

Release Date:  February 08, 2019

Genre: Horror

Cast: Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Peter Mooney, Colm Feore, Brittany Allen

Summary  (from Rotten Tomatoes):

In her much-anticipated foray into the horror-thriller genre, Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Taylor Schilling stars in THE PRODIGY as Sarah, a mother whose young son Miles’ disturbing behavior signals that an evil, possibly supernatural force has overtaken him. Fearing for her family’s safety, Sarah must choose between her maternal instinct to love and protect Miles and a desperate need to investigate what — or who — is causing his dark turn. She is forced to look for answers in the past, taking the audience on a wild ride; one where the line between perception and reality becomes frighteningly blurry.

Review by Me

When I first saw the trailer for The Prodigy, I said I would see it but looking at the trailers I was assuming that the movie would be about a boy being possess by the devil or something similar to The Omen;  Well this definitely wasn’t the case, yeah there was something wrong with the son, but there was no devil possession nor were there any exorcism involved. This movie was better than I thought, I really liked the plot of the film, it was different to me. When the movie first comes on, the first couple of scenes you kind of don’t know what to expect as far why is this the first scene in the movie after some patience you see why later in the film. The pace of this movie is okay, its not moving too slow, but of course after seeing the trailer you expect to get to the son doing bad things and being scared. What I did like about this movie is how I said earlier going into the theaters thinking you know how the movie will be, but turns out to be the opposite, which I liked; Also another thing was the acting especially among the wife, husband, and the son, you see that they love him, but at the same time they are creeeped out and scared, which is understanding. The Prodigy is not a super scary film, but there were some scenes that made me to jump lol. And for the horror fans  you probably recognize that the actor playing Miles also played Georgie in 2017’s IT . I did have some questions after the movie ended, like what made the serial killer become one, why did he choose that certain MO; And also why did this particular thing happen to this family, is there a reason, and lastly the ending, its not bad, but of course you want this nightmare to end for this family ! After watching The Prodigy I think its a decent horror film, it definitely surprised me with the plot, which is a good thing, and it was kind of a refreshing movie to see. If you are into horror films or maybe suspense, and you are curious about this movie, I recommend you seeing The Prodigy and let me know what you think below in the comments !

Journaling

IMG_0399
This is my personal journal I use; Purchased this from Five Below.

Self care is taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally,  and spiritually. With self care activities you’ll feel healthier, happier, and ready for anything. One self care  activity you can do that I recently got into is Journaling; it is a creative and relaxing way to record your thoughts and experiences. Some of you may ask, what would I write about, how long should I write, how often should I write, well because you are doing this for yourself, the answer to these questions will be up to you. I will provide you with a few ideas and prompts; some of which I thought of and also found on the internet. I will also explain to y’all how I journal- meaning how often, and how much/or little do I write. Just to give you an idea of how Journaling works for me !

Here are a few ideas/prompts that you can use to start journaling :

-Celebrity Crushes.
-What is your dream job ?
-Post five things that make you laugh out loud.
-What scares you ?
-Your favorite personality trait.
-Am I happy ? What is happiness to me ?
-Your favorite season and why ?
This one is for my Marvel fans.
-If you could possess one infinity stone, which one would it be ?
-Some things that make me happy are…

If I don’t have nothing urgent to write about off the top of my head, I pull an idea/prompt from my jar and write about it; As far as how much I write, it’s usually for about 5-10 mins. which ends up being a whole page of my journal.

Besides being a great activity for self care, keeping a journal especially after the journal is full, a few years from then, you can look back and see how much you’ve grown and learned; It’s also a good way to record memories. I hope after reading this post you’ve found it helpful just in case you think about keeping a journal or have had the thought of keeping one !

Another angle of my journal.

Turkey Burgers Anyone ?

img_0413-1.jpg

The majority of the burgers I eat from restaurants or fast food places are made from ground beef, but every now and then when I make a homemade burger, I use Ground Turkey. Now how I cook my burger is not the right or the wrong way, its just me cooking a burger on a whim and there is no particular recipe. For my burger lovers and if you are interested or you just enjoy eating turkey burgers then read on…

Here’s what I used to make these yummy Turkey Burgers :

– A pack of Ground Turkey ( the one I used is 1.25 lbs. )

– One Bell Pepper ( diced)

– One Yellow or White Onion ( diced)

– An egg

-Seasoning of you choice: I used Lawry’s Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Black Pepper.

-Hamburger Buns.

Next Up Are the simple directions for these burgers:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl mix in the bell peppers and onions with the ground turkey, then add the egg (which holds the patty together).

Then add in your choice of seasonings.

Gather a ball of the mixed ground turkey and pat down to form a patty. (I made four patties out of the pack I bought)

On a baking pan, spray cooking spray and place patties on the pan; and add some water to pan, place in oven and let cook for 25-30 mins.

After the burgers are done, place the patty on a bun, put on a slice of cheese (if you’d like) and load your favorite burger toppings and if you are like me add some fries, a pickle spear, and enjoy !

Let me know what you think ? Would you try this ? Leave a comment below !
